End Of Altburg Market Campaign

I'm not dead, although it's been more then 5 weeks since my last post. :) I've been very busy with Tabletop World's Altburg Market kickstarter and didn't have time for private stuff (read: Undead) :D
That being said here are the last few showcases that I made for Tabletop World:

Farmer Stall

Potter Stall

Baker Stall

Working on this project and bringing the medieval Town Square to life was real fun. However I do miss painting models for my Vampire Counts army and I'm happy that I will have more time to dedicate to painting Undead. :)

More Altburg Market

I haven't been able to work on my Undead Legion for a couple of weeks now since I've been painting stuff for Tabletop World kickstarter like crazy! I miss painting my deaders. :) That being said, I really enjoyed bringing the Altburg Market to life so here are some photos:

Altburg Market

I've been working hard for the past few weeks on latest Tabletop World stuff. I am painting various accessories such as barrels, crates, sacks of grain, tools, carts, tents, market stands and so on which will be available in the next Tabletop World kickstarter: Altburg Market.
I am giving my best to bring the models to life in most realistic way. Here are some promo shots I made recently:

And here are a few closeups on the separate objects:
Currently I'm working on a weapons and armour stand. :)

Berthold Brandt

After about 15 years I'm slowly returning to my Warhammer Empire army. This was my second army which I started to collect back in the year 2000, after three years of collecting Wood Elves. Vampire Counts, Empire and the Tomb Kings are my three favorite Warhammer armies, and I hope, with time, I'll manage to collect them all! :)

I decided to start this journey with one of the characters, Berthold Brandt, a warrior priest armed with a hammer and a shield.

I like both the pose of the mini and the character. I decided to use more or less the official color scheme (which rarely happens) from the 7th edition Army Book. I think the choice of colors is great. I did however paint one of his eyes like it is blind with scaring around it from the battle wound. I think it makes the priest look more brutal, like a veteran who had his share of action. I also did some dirt stains on his clothes.

Leonard "Lenny" the Henchman

Recently I have painted another Dunkeldorf Miniatures character. This time a henchman Leonard aka Lenny. The resemblance to the rock legend Lemmy from Motorhead is obvious, hence the name Lenny I guess. I think it's a cool tribute to the man. :)

As always, it was a joy to paint one of their minis. Really crisp sculpt with just the right amount of details.

Lenny always liked to hang out with Helmut, but recently he is thinking about finding a new drinking buddy. Helmut gets hammered way to easily these days. :D

Cheers guys!🍻

Brother Gumbert

This goodhearted monk is an Altburg graveyard church resident. One can imagine him slicing his matured Cheddar complimented with a nice cup of wine. :) The mini is totally different from the dark characters I'm used to paint and it was lot of fun. :D Townsfolk run to this little guy to seek refuge when Vampire Counts are approaching. 🧛

The miniature as well as the scenery is from Tabletop World.
To see how I painted the stone walls and flagstone floor on this Graveyard you can check out my tutorial on how I paint stone.

Drunkard

dunkeldorf miniatures
It's always a pleasure to paint one of the characters from Dunkeldorf range. I had lots of fun painting this drunkard. The moment I saw the mini I knew what I wanted to do with it. The short story is, his wife was bitten and taken away by a vampire. Since then he is drinking himself to death and is nothing but the ruin of a man.

The part that I was most excited about doing is the puke running down his belly. For this I used Woodland Scenics Fine Turf mixed with water and PVA glue to give it some texture. I think it turned out pretty well (disgusting) :D. Also I wanted his clothes and feet to be very dirty and his skin full of scabs and lesions from falling down and lack of hygiene. Scenery is from Tabletop World.

Heresy Lab Militia Man

Recently I received some of the Heresy Lab miniatures to do a review on them. Some of the models are cast in resin and some are 3D printed. The quality of both is great, although there are some annoying print marks on the ones that are printed, which is in the most cases unavoidable. What I like the most about these minis is that many of them are really dynamic. Like this warrior I have painted, for example. He is packed with action and really looks like he is in the midst of combat. I think that the minis like this are perfect for skirmish games like Mordheim.

Speaking of Mordheim, here is one cool shot I took on the last session I had with my friends. Witch Hunters sniffing out the Skaven.

I have big plans regarding terrain! I will be converting many of the Tabletop World buildings and making a big gaming board. More about this soon! :)
