With tenth warrior finished I completed the first two ranks of my oldhammer deaders! Since every warrior looks like a character rather than rank and file model I'm using different colors and not limiting myself with a particular color scheme.

Oldhammer Undead pt.8
Ninth oldhammer skeleton done! This is one was released by Games Workshop back in the 80's for Dead of Dunharrow from Lord Of The Rings series. One more skelie and I'll have two completed ranks for the unit. Can't wait to put them all together. :)

Oldhammer Undead pt.5
Another skelie from 1987 joins my Oldhammer Undead collection. This time holding a scythe. I really enjoy painting these old minis and I am taking different approach then to my main army.

Oldhammer Undead pt.4
Painted another Game Workshop skeleton form 1987. This one looks like it might be from the Blood Bawl game rather then Warhammer but I'm not sure. Anyhow, I like the model and it will be added to my oldhammer skeletons unit. :)

Oldhammer Undead pt.2
So I recently finished two more skelies from the '80s and wasn't completely happy with them. I figured it's the glowing green in their eye sockets. While I use this effect on my middlehammer skeletons and love the way it looks, for some reason I dislike it on the oldhammer deaders. It's seems like they loose their face expressions (or should I say skull expressions :) ) when I do the "eyes" this way. I'll post photos with and without glowing eyes and you can be the judge. :)

Oldhammer Undead
I have started a new side project...and yes, it's deaders again. :) I am starting a true oldhammer Undead army. The army will comprise of miniatures that were released in 70s and 80s and maybe some from early 90s, up to '93. Miniatures that are released in '94 and onward will be a part of my main Vampire Counts army which is mostly comprised of midhammer models.
The main reason I am separating the to armies is the style and size. Older models are way goofier and smaller. Also I wanted to do different (forest) bases on these old models.
Here is the first model of the skeleton unit. Games Workshop skeleton with sword 21, from 1985.

Zombie Horde Is Growing!
I am happy to present you the current state of my zombie horde! Few days ago I finally reached the number 50. However, the final goal is to have a unit 100 zombies strong. For now I'll take a rest from zombies and paint some skeletons (I just love skeletons, I can newer have them enough! :) ).
So here are some shots of the unit: Oh and by the way, I wasn't completely happy with my Landsknecht zombies, they were to clean. A bit of rust, dirt and blood goes a long way. So here they are updated: And finally, a cool shot of Arachtian raising the dead in the local cemetery:Sunday, June 20, 2021

Grom the Paunch
In October a guy named Phil AKA oldmanpaints on Instagram announced the Old Orcs Painting Competition to celebrate oRctober. I have never participated in a painting competition before, but I always wanted to, so this seamed as a great opportunity. Other then that, it's been a long time since I've painted an Orc and this was a great excuse to take out, strip the old paint and start working on one of my favorite old school greenskin models - Grom the Paunch! This legendary gobo has such a cool background story and the sculpt is so full of character. Originally he is riding a wolf chariot with his loyal night goblin standard bearer Niblet, but I decided to paint only Grom. I really had a blast painting him. Since his skin is green I decide to use red and orange for his pants and other details to achieve maximum contrast. Also it was a must to include those old school patterns on his chainmail and axe. All in all it was a nice experience. The competition was very strong and there were many awesome entries. In the end I didn't win a prize but non the less it was lots of fun. :)
